Erich Petersen

Erich Wilhelm Alexander Petersen (born October 4, 1871 in Breslau , † March 1, 1942 in Berlin-Schmargendorf ) was a German government official and member of parliament.

From 1906 to 1917 Erich Petersen was district administrator of the Prussian district of Fischhausen in East Prussia and from 1917 to 1937 of the district of Minden in Westphalia.

Life

Erich Petersen passed his maturity certificate at the Askanisches Gymnasium in Berlin in 1890 and then studied law in Berlin. He was a volunteer soldier in the Kaiser Franz Garde Grenadier Regiment No. 2 and a lieutenant in the reserve of this regiment. Erich Petersen passed the examinations for court trainee lawyer (1894) and government assessor (1899). From 1894 to 1906 he worked for various courts and government agencies in Prussia, including from 1896 to 1900 for the district government in Minden . In 1906 Erich Petersen was entrusted with the administration of the District Office in the Fischhausen district and on February 18, 1907, appointed District Administrator. In 1917 he was commissioned with the administration of the district office in the Minden district and after the district council had waived his right to propose his appointment, on June 6, 1918, he was finally appointed district administrator, which he held until his retirement on April 1, 1937. After 1918 Erich Petersen was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia . He was a member of the State Railways Council in Hanover and a member of the Insurance Association of German Small Railways, and he also held various supervisory board mandates in municipal companies (probably Minden-Ravensberg electricity works and Mindener Kreisbahnen ).

Erich Petersen was a Protestant and married.
