Wilhelm Büxten

Wilhelm Büxten (born November 1, 1810 in Lockhausen-Büxten , † June 17, 1892 in Salzuflen ) was a landowner, member of the Lippe state parliament and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Büxten attended school in Lockhausen and a private school in Herford . He ran his own estate from 1836 to 1875. From 1844 to 1875 he was the head of the community and a member of the local council. From 1859 to 1889 he was a member of the Lipper state parliament and from 1865 also a committee deputy there. Büxten had already stood as a candidate for the state parliament in the spring of 1849, but was defeated at that time.

In 1863 Wilhelm Büxten took part in the second Congress of German parliamentarians (parliamentary assembly) in Frankfurt a. M. part.

Büxten was elected to the Reichstag on April 11, 1878 in place of Franz Hausmann, who died on December 30, 1877 , where he represented the constituency of Lippe-Detmold for the German Progressive Party until 1887 . Wilhelm Büxten was a long-time political friend of Hausmann's; he had led the Lippe Progressive Party together with Büxten.

Wilhelm Büxten died in Salzuflen in June 1892.
