Friedrich Wilhelm Helwing (* 1758 in Lemgo ; † 1833 ) was a diplomat and politician from Lippe .

Friedrich Wilhelm Helwing was the son of the Lemgo high school director Christian Friedrich Helwing (1725–1800) and brother-in-law of the Prussian statesman Christian Wilhelm von Dohm . He was married to Catharina Wilhelmine von Hoffmann (1767–1833), a daughter of the Lippe Chancellor Ferdinand Bernhard von Hoffmann . From the marriage the son Ferdinand Helwing (1785-1858), bailiff and councilor in Lippe, arose.

Friedrich Wilhelm Helwing was the first commissioner of the Lippische Leihekasse founded in 1786 . He held this office for 30 years.

He was a diplomat in the Principality of Lippe . Government Councilor Helwig Lippe-Detmold represented in the negotiations for the establishment of the German Confederation at the Congress of Vienna . The German Federal Act bears his signature. From 1816 to 1818 Friedrich Wilhelm Helwing represented the principalities of Hohenzollern-Hechingen and Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen , both Reuss ( older and younger lines ), Liechtenstein , Lippe-Detmold, Schaumburg-Lippe and Waldeck at the Bundestag and took their curate vote .

From 1829 to 1832 he was Minister of State for the Principality of Lippe .
