Bettina Tremmel (* 1971 in Schwarzach ) is a German provincial Roman archaeologist .

After graduating from Veit-Höser-Gymnasium in Bogen in 1990 , Bettina Tremmel studied the subjects of Provincial Roman Archeology, Pre- and Early History and Ancient History at the Universities of Munich , Tübingen and Aix-en-Provence . It was with a thesis on the Vicus of Augusta Vindelicum doctorate .

She began her professional activity as a scientific trainee in the specialist department Provincial Roman Archeology of LWL Archeology for Westphalia in Münster under Johann-Sebastian Kühlborn . She has been a scientific consultant there since 2009 . Tremmel is responsible for excavations and research on the Roman camps along the Lippe and other legacies of the Romans in Westphalia . In 2011 she was the excavation manager for the archaeological investigations of the Roman camp in Olfen . Since 2012 she has been leading the excavations in the area of ​​the LWL Roman construction site Aliso , which is located within the main camp of the former Haltern Roman camp .
