Josef Fendl (born January 17, 1929 in Schönbühl , Straubing-Bogen district ) is a Bavarian writer . His work mainly includes Bavarian poems , short stories and radio features .

Life

As a "Lower Bavarian guest worker in the Upper Palatinate", Josef Fendl was a teacher in Regensburg and Neutraubling for almost 40 years and a home nurse in the southern district of Regensburg , of which he was a member, for over 30 years . From 1968 to 1990 he not only designed the school newspaper of the Staatliche Realschule Neutraubling - he also edited 45 booklets of the “Contributions to the History of the Regensburg District” and from 1999 to 2010 the Straubinger Calendar , Germany's oldest home calendar (2016: 420th year). The “literary broom-maker” has published over 60 books in the meantime and is known all over the country as a spirited reciter of his taunts, sayings and pub aphorisms . The special love of the "white and blue wandering preacher" belongs to the Bavarian language and local history. Among other things, he is a member of the small dialect poets group " Sindlbacher Kreis" founded in the summer of 1981 on the initiative of Georg Gick .

Contributions by the dialect poet are contained in 120 anthologies and reading books. Between 1983 and 1992 he edited and spoke about 20 programs for Bayerischer Rundfunk . Since the 1950s he has been writing newspaper articles and magazine articles under the pseudonyms Peter Muhr, Martin Staudacher, Josef Schwarz and Michael Paintner.
Josef Fendl is a consultant for the Hanns Seidel Foundation .
