Barchovice (German Barchowitz , older also Barchwitz (1340)) is a place with 210 inhabitants, consisting of three districts in Okres Kolín , Czech Republic . The village was first mentioned in 1340.
Attractions
The old Slavic ramparts Hryzely was once a guard castle on the southern border of Kouřim in the 8th and 9th centuries. The ruin is protected by three chains of ramparts that are still in good condition. The steep slopes towards Vavřinecký potok are less protected and are partly absent. Both outer castles were probably not inhabited throughout, only the so-called Acropolis behind the three walls was inhabited. In the north there is a pin-shaped gate, the only access to the castle.
