Church of St. George in Lošany

Lošany ( German  Großloschan ) is a municipality in the Kolin district in the Czech Republic . The community is located about 7 km southwest of the city of Kolin . In 2006 the community had 329 inhabitants. The district covers an area of ​​3.83 square kilometers.

history

The village Lošany was first mentioned in historical sources in 1259. In the Middle Ages, the place was inhabited by Germans and was therefore also referred to as German Lossan or villa Lossan Theutunicali (1392) or Lessan (1405). The district of Lošanky was settled by Czechs and was called Bohemian Lossan or villa Lossan Bohemicali (1406).

The municipality Lošany consists of the districts Lošany and Lošánky (German: Kleinloschan , older also Bohemian Lossan , Klein Lossan ), which also form cadastral districts.

  • Church of St. Georg in Lošany, the neo-Gothic building was built between 1895 and 1896 instead of a previous building from 1355
  • Lošany tower fortress was built in the second half of the 14th century and raised in 1478.
