Němčice ( German  Niemtschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers northeast of the city center of Kolín and belongs to the Okres Kolín .

geography

Němčice is located on a ridge in the Středolabské tabule (table land on the middle Elbe ). The Bačovka rises north of the village and the Ohařský potok and the Hluboký potok to the southeast. In the northeast rises the Holý vrch (266 m nm), south of the Homole (279 m nm).

Neighboring towns are Hájky , Na Farme, Ohaře and Dománovice in the north, piska and Radovesnice II in the Northeast, Lipec and Uhlířská Lhota in the east, BOZEC , Chrást, Bělušice and Týnec nad Labem in the southeast, Lžovice , Jelen and Konárovice in the south, Býchory and Eleonorov in the southwest and Jestřabí Lhota and Sány in the northwest.

history

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1222, when Jezbor von Němčice was mentioned as a witness on a document from King Ottokar I. Přemysl . After 1273 the village belonged to the Strahov Monastery . At the beginning of the 15th century, Matyáš Korček from Božec owned Němčice; After his death the estate in 1415 fell to the Bohemian crown home , what is King Wenceslas IV. overwrote of Prokop and Markvart of Soběšín. In 1445 Jan von Němčice owned the farm and the village of Němčice. From 1514 the estate belonged to Zikmund Korček from Božec on Ohaře . His second wife Anna, who was married to the Kolín baker Dibl, sold the Ohaře and Němčice estates to Jan Libenický of Vrchoviště on Libenice in 1575 . In 1593 his son Vratislav Libenický sold the Libenice manor with the Ohaře and Němčice estates to King Rudolf II , who united them with the Kolín Chamberlain. In 1829, Emperor Franz I sold the Kolín Chamber of Commerce to the textile manufacturer Jacob Veith .

In 1843 the rustic village Niemtschitz or Němčice in the Kauřim district consisted of 47 houses in which 357 people, including three Protestant families, lived. Two chaluppets belonged to the Poděbrad estate . There was an inn in the village. The village was parish after Wohař , the official place was Kaisersdorf . Until the middle of the 19th century, Niemtschitz remained subject to the Kolín rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Němčice formed from 1849 a district of the municipality Ohaře in the judicial district of Kolin . In 1860 Němčice broke away from Ohaře and formed its own municipality. 1862 acquired Franz Horsky the manorial Kolin from the heirs of Baron Wenceslas Veith. Horsky immediately initiated a modernization of agriculture. From 1868 the village belonged to the Kolin District . In 1869 Němčice had 423 inhabitants and consisted of 64 houses. Until the end of the 19th century, the village could only be reached via dirt roads; In 1896 the road through Býchory to Kolín was laid. Between 1904 and 1907 the Elbeteinitz road to Ohaře was built. In 1900 there were 482 people in Němčice, in 1910 there were 506. In 1930 Němčice had 460 inhabitants and consisted of 107 houses. The road to Jestřabí Lhota was built in 1938. In 1964 it was incorporated into Býchory. Since 1991 Němčice has been independent again. In the 2001 census, 277 people lived in the 115 houses in Němčice. Since 2002 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner.

Attractions

  • Wooden bell tree from the end of the 19th century in the village square. It was implemented twice; until 1919 it stood in a small garden on the square of the bus stop, then until 1921 on the site of the monument to the fallen
  • Memorial stone for the fallen of World War I, unveiled on September 18, 1921. It is the work of the Kolín sculptor Václav Drobník. The memorial plaque for a Red Army soldier who died in an accident in 1945 was attached later.
  • Sandstone statue of the Virgin Mary, created 1890
  • Wooden cross with a life-size tinny portrait of the Crucified, on the road to Býchory, made in 1898. A copy is exhibited in the Museum of Folk Architecture in Kouřim .
  • House number 32, the oldest house in the village, bears the year 1612 on the gable
  • Allegedly the world's largest wigwam on the grounds of the Vigwam wellness center
