history

Numerous archaeological finds prove that the area was settled during the transition from the Bronze Age to the Silesian-Platenitz culture around 1200 BC. Around the 7th and 8th centuries there was probably a charwatic watchtower on its back . Later the area belonged to the Slavnikid domain .

The first written mention of the village took place in 1381 under the name Jelčovice as the property of the Cistercian monastery Sedlec . The place was subject to the jurisdiction of the town of Týnec . During the Hussite Wars , the Sedlec Monastery was attacked and burned down by the Hussites under Jan Žižka in 1421 ; then various nobles seized the extensive property. On September 21, 1436, King Sigismund inherited the Teinitz estate with the town of Tajnec and the associated villages to Vaněk von Miletínek, a brother of the moderate Hussite captain Diviš Bořek von Miletínek . Vaněk von Miletínek formed the Teynecz rule. Later the village was added to the Kolín rule and in 1628 it was joined with the Poděbrady rule . Lžovice had its own Rychtář and was subject to the castle jurisdiction of Starý Kolín . Otherwise, Lžovice always remained ecclesiastically, academically and economically connected to the city of Elbe-Teinitz in the Pardubitz rule.

In 1843, the in was Kauřimer district on the border with Časlauer and Chrudim district located rustic village Lžowitz or Lžowice of 28 houses in which 205 people, including a Protestant family lived. There were two inns in the village. The parish and school location was Elbe-Teinitz, the official location was Kaisersdorf . Until the middle of the 19th century, Lžowitz remained subject to the Kolin rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Lžovice formed from 1849 a municipality in the judicial district of Kolin . From 1868 the village belonged to the Kolin District . In 1869 Lžovice had 213 inhabitants and consisted of 34 houses. In 1900 there were 250 people living in Lžovice, in 1910 there were 239. In 1930 Lžovice had 215 inhabitants and consisted of 53 houses. In 1961 it was incorporated into Týnec nad Labem . In the 2001 census, 190 people lived in the 88 houses in Lžovice.
