Bob Likins
Bob Likins (actually Robert William Likins; born May 12, 1921 in Portland , Oregon , † November 21, 1962 in Upland , California ) was an American javelin thrower .
In 1948 he qualified second in the US eliminations for the London Olympics , in which he was eighth.
As a student at San José State University , he became NCAA champions in 1946 and 1947 . His personal best of 69.01 m he set on June 5, 1948 in Berkeley .
