White wayside shrine in Bad Kissingen .

The white wayside shrine is a landmark in Bad Kissingen , the major district town of the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen . It is one of the Bad Kissingen architectural monuments and is registered in the Bavarian Monument List under the number D-6-72-114-406 .

history

The “White Wayside Shrine” is located on the edge of the Klauswald near the junction of the “Wildfuhr” from the B 286 . The wayside shrine is at an old place of prayer. According to the inscription on the section between the top and the column, the wayside shrine dates from 1705.

The base plate is square with a side length of 115 centimeters. The round column is 182 centimeters high and bears the following inscription:

"PAVLVS RÜCHMAR
UNT VRSVLA GEP.SCHMENIN
HAPEN TISEN BILTSTOK IN
HONOR OF THE H
KREVZ LASEN"

The attachment board is 115 centimeters high and has a frame. On one side it shows Christ tortured by two soldiers , on the other side the motif of the Holy Walk with Mary and Joseph leading Jesus by the hand.

A roof structure with wooden shingles on two high posts is built above the shrine.
