Kolin district
The Kolin District ( Okresní hejtmanství Kolín in Czech ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in Central Bohemia in today's Středočeský kraj ( Okres Kolín ). Seat of the district administration was the city of Kolin ( Kolín ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.
The Kolin District was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Kouřim ( Czech soudní okres Kouřim ) and Kolin ( Kolín ).
The Kolin District was home to 57,346 people in 1869, with the district covering an area of 8.6 square miles and 72 parishes.
In 1900 the district accommodated 70,556 people who lived in an area of 489.31 km² or in 89 communities.
The Kolin district covered an area of 489.29 km² in 1910 and housed a population of 73,311 people. In 1910, 73,119 of the inhabitants had given Czech and 45 German as their colloquial language. In addition, 147 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the district. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 91 communities and 97 cadastral communities.
