Jeffrey Webb

Jeffrey Webb (* 24. September 1964 ) is a football functionary of the Cayman Islands .

Webb has been President of the Cayman Islands National Association, Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA), since 1991 . On May 23, 2012 he was elected President of CONCACAF . Two days later he became a member of the FIFA Executive Committee . Webb originally worked for the financial services company Fidelity Investments , which has a branch in the Cayman Islands offshore financial center .

On May 27, 2015, Webb and eight other FIFA officials were arrested by the Swiss Federal Office of Justice on suspicion of corruption at the Hotel Baur au Lac in Zurich . According to information from the US authorities and their indictment «United States v. Jeffrey Webb et al. "Webb received over $ 3 million in bribes for awarding tournament rights . According to Spiegel Online , Webb was considered a close confidante of Sepp Blatter and possible successor to Blatters. Webb was shipped to the US from Switzerland on July 16, 2015 .
