Landskron district

The Landskron District ( Okresní hejtmanství Lanškroun in Czech ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in Eastern Bohemia in today's Pardubický kraj ( Okres Chrudim or Okres Ústí nad Orlicí ). The seat of the district administration was the town of Landskron ( Lanškroun ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Landskron district was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts Wildenschwert ( Czech soudní okres Ústí nad Orlicí ) and Landskron ( Lanškroun ).

The Landskron district lived 62,572 people in 1869, the district comprising an area of ​​8.3 square miles and 56 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 64,264 people who lived in an area of ​​472.22 km² or in 60 communities.

In 1910, the Landskron district covered an area of ​​472.22 km² and had a population of 68,709 people. In 1910, 41,721 of the inhabitants indicated Czech and 26,830 German as their colloquial language. There were also 158 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the district. The Landskron judicial district had a German-speaking majority and the Wildenschwert judicial district had a Czech-speaking majority. These two judicial districts with a total of 60 communities and 61 cadastral communities belonged to the district.
