Neupaka district

The Neupaka District ( Okresní hejtmanství Nová Paka in Czech ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in northeastern Bohemia in today's Královéhradecký kraj ( Okres Jičín ). The seat of the district administration was the city of Neupaka ( Nová Paka ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The area of ​​the later Neupaka district initially belonged to the Jičin district or the Königgrätz district .

It was not until October 1, 1903, that the judicial districts Neupaka ( Czech soudní okres Nová Paka ) from the Jičin district and Hořitz ( Hořice ) from the Königgrätz district formed the new Neupaka district.

In the Neupaka district, according to the 1900 census or the area of ​​1903, 62,097 people lived in an area of ​​431.64 km² or in 83 communities.

The district covered an area of ​​431.64 km² in 1910 and housed a population of 64,628 people. In 1910, 61,860 of the inhabitants indicated Czech and 2661 German as their colloquial language. In addition, 107 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the district. Two judicial districts with a total of 104 communities and 113 cadastral communities belonged to the district.
