Hájek is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located two kilometers southwest of Bavorov and belongs to the Okres Strakonice .

Geographical location
The village is located in the foreland of the Bohemian Forest on the left side above the Blanice valley . In the west rise hilltops of the 582 m high Hájek. Hájek is located on the state road 141 between Bavorov and Prachatice , east of the town the railway line to Prachatice passes, the next train stop "Blanice" is on the other side of the river in Blanička.

Neighboring towns are Bavorov in the northeast, Bavorovské Svobodné Hory in the east, Blanice in the southeast, Strunkovice nad Blanicí and Dvorec in the south, Dubská Lhota in the southwest, Borčice in the west and Tourov in the northwest.
history
The village, first mentioned in documents in 1334, was part of the Bavorov rule and from 1355 was subject to the Helfenburg . After the abolition of patrimonial , the village came to the Piseker district. The seat of the court was Vodňany.
The place is characterized by agriculture. After his incorporation in Bavorov on November 26, 1971, he was given back his independence on January 1, 1992. Hájek is the place with the oldest building structure in Okres Strakonice, the average age of the houses in 2007 was 87.5 years and was thus about twice as high as the district average.
