history

The first written mention of Skály was in 1334 when Margarethe von Rosenberg , the widow of Bavor III. von Strakonitz , the town of Bavorov and 24 villages to her brother Peter I. von Rosenberg . In 1357 the Rosenbergs had the Helfenburg built on the Malošín . In the first half of the 15th century they sold Skály to the Sedlecký from Dub, followed by the Kořenský from Terešov to Chřešťovice. In the second half of the 17th century, the Lažanský von Buggau ( Lažanští z Bukové ) acquired Skály and struck the village to their combined estate Wosek - Bratronitz . In the Theresian cadastre , 19 farmers, two day laborers and a village shepherd are shown for Skály. There was also a one-wheeled manorial mill with a pond. When Adam Graf Lažansky von Buggau died in 1737, his property was over-indebted and in 1739 fell to his creditors. This divided the rule Bratronitz again into the three goods Bratronitz, Wosek and Mladiegowitz ( Mladějovice ), with Skály being subordinate to the latter. In 1742 Adam Philipp Losy von Losinthal acquired the Mladiegowitz estate and connected it with his Stiekna estate . With his death in 1781 the Losy von Losinthal family died out in the male line. His widow Ernestine Countess Fuchs von Bimbach sold the goods to Joseph-Niklas zu Windisch-Graetz in 1784 . When house numbering was introduced in 1771, Skály consisted of 23 houses. In 1840, Skal consisted of 30 houses with 213 inhabitants. There was an emphyteutical inn in the village. The parish was Parachev . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village of the allodial rule Stiekna and the Mladiegowitz estate remained subject. The owners were the Counts of Windisch-Graetz .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Skala / Skal 1850 a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district Strakonice. In 1895 there were 223 people living in the village's 35 houses; in 1907 there were 184. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1902. After a Paračov farmer's cart during a flood in the ford of the district road through the Skálský potok, which crosses the village in the middle, had an accident, a bridge was built over the brook between 1905 and 1907 at the request of the district administration. Since 1923, the municipality asked in vain several times to build a district road to Kuřimany in order to significantly shorten the road connection to the district town of Strakonice. The current place name Skály has been used since 1924 . In 1924 Skály consisted of 35 houses in which 199 people lived. In 1931 a bus connection to Strakonice was started. In 1937 a transformer house was built and the village was electrified. During the Second World War, eight American aerial bombs fell on the fields and the forest east of Skály in late 1944. In 1964 the village was incorporated into Kváskovice and on July 1, 1975 with this together to Paračov . In 1970 the village had 109 inhabitants. In 1974, the residents built a swimming pool southeast of Skály at Cehnický potok. After a referendum, Skály broke away from Paračov on November 24, 1990 and formed its own community. The former syringe house was converted into a municipal office in the early 1990s. In 1991 the population had dropped to 73, in 2005 there were 79 people living in Skály.
