Přešťovice [ ˈpr̝̊ɛʃcɔvɪt͡sɛ ] (German Prestowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers northeast of Strakonice and belongs to the Okres Strakonice .

Geographical location

Přešťovice is on the left side of the Otava at its tributary Rohozná in the Bohemian Forest foreland . To the east rises the Brdo (508 m), in the south lies the Vrch hill (417 m) above the broad river bed of the Otava, interspersed with artesian wells . To the north of the village lies the Velký přešťovický rybník pond, which is fed by the Rohozná.

The municipality Přešťovice consists of the districts Brusy ( Bruß ), Kbelnice ( Kbelnitz ) and Přešťovice ( Prestowitz ) and the settlement Slatina ( moor ).

Neighboring towns are Rohozná in the north, Kbelnice in the northeast, Slatina in the east, Štěkeň and Čejetice in the southeast, Sedlíkovice and Modlešovice in the south, Hájská and Slaník in the southwest, Řepice in the west and Rovná in the northwest.

history

The oldest part of the municipality is Kbelnice, which can be traced back to 1360, when Štěpán von Radomyšl was listed as the owner of five Hufen land. Since 1384 Kbelnice was subject to the Rosenbergers on the Helfenburg . Until 1419 Kbelnice was still a Vladikengut .

Přešťovice was founded in 1397 and was always part of the Štěkeň dominion until the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848.

The Říčanský of Říčany owned the estate from 1412 to 1610, after which there were several changes of ownership. After the Battle of White Mountain in 1622, the manor was confiscated from the property of Jan Malovec of Malovice . 1648 acquired the previously wandered in from Switzerland to Bohemia nobles January Anton Losy of Losinthal Štěkeň with the associated villages Řepice , Mladějovice, Přešťovice, Čejetice , Droužetice , Přeborovice, Brusy, Cehnice , Dunovice, Netonice, Radějovice , Paračov, Kuřimeny , Sudkovice and Černěkov by Johann Anton, Prince of Eggenberg . After his death in 1682 his son Johann Baptist Štěkeň inherited. He died in 1683 and his brother Johann Anton Losy von Losinthal took over the inheritance . 1720 handed over the rule to his son Adam Philipp . After Adam Philipp Count Losy von Losinthal died on April 21, 1781 in Vienna without heirs, his widow Ernestine Countess Fuchs von Bimbach inherited the rule. In the same year she sold the property to Joseph-Niklas zu Windisch-Graetz . He was followed in 1802 by his son Alfred I. zu Windisch-Graetz .

In 1848 Přešťovice became an independent municipality.
