Uzenice [ ʊzɛɲɪt͡sɛ ] (German Usenitz , formerly Groß Usenitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers northeast of Blatná in South Bohemia and belongs to the Okres Strakonice .

Geographical location

Uzenice is located on the left side of the Uzenický creek on a western slope in the Blatenská pahorkatina hill country. The Chlumák rises to the north (548 m), the Vrše (520 m) to the east, the Na Červenkách (500 m) to the south and the Křikava (520 m) to the northwest. To the south lies the Labuť pond.

history

Uzenice was first mentioned in writing in 1227 as the property of the St. George Monastery at Prague Castle . Later, the estate was initially pledged to the Frauenberg and Klingenberg lords, before the Křikava lords acquired it and joined the Křikava lordship . After the destruction of the Křikava Castle, Tašek von Drahenice acquired its possessions at the end of the 15th century and added them to his Teutsch-Usenitz estate . Around 1520, Zdeniek Lev von Rosental acquired this property and added it to the Blatná rule . His son Adam Lev von Rosental sold the Teutsch-Usenitz estate in 1537 for 1000 shock Bohemian groschen to Johann Bieschin von Bieschin . When the estate was divided between his sons, the Teutsch-Usenitz estate, including the church patronage in Černisko, fell to Zdenko Bieschin von Bieschin in 1579. His son Zbynek Georg Bieschin von Bieschin sold Teutsch-Usenitz with the villages of Klein-Usenitz , Groß-Usenitz and Černisko in 1617 for 14,000 Meißnische Schock to Wilhelm the Elder. Ä. Wrabsky Tluksa von Wraby, who added it to his Drahenitz reign . Wraby's Wrabsky held the property until 1686, when several changes of ownership followed. In 1795 the Oberstlandmarschall Johann Prokop Graf Hartmann von Klarstein acquired the Drahenitz estate from Marie Elisabeth Countess von Nostitz-Rieneck , née Kolowrat -Krakowsky von Ugezd. In 1840 Usenitz , which was also called Groß-Usenitz / Uzenice or Vzenice , consisted of 28 houses with 255 inhabitants. There was an inn in the village. The parish was Černisko. Until the middle of the 19th century, Usenitz remained subject to the Drahenitz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Uzenice / wholesale Uzenitz 1850 a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district Breznitz . From 1868 Uzenice belonged to the Blatná district . In 1870 the Lobkowicz Counts became the owners of the estate. At the end of the 19th century the single-layer Chobot grew to a village, the Uzenice corridor belonged to Chobot 3rd díl / Chobot 3rd share.

In the course of the abolition of the Okres Blatná, Uzenice was assigned to the Okres Strakonice in 1960. In 1964 Uzeničky was incorporated (with Černívsko ). On November 24, 1990 Uzeničky and Černívsko broke away from Uzenice and formed the municipality of Uzeničky.

Culture and sights

  • Remains of the Křikava castle west of the village, it was first mentioned in 1345 and destroyed in the 15th century

  • Baroque cross on the way to Chobot, created in 1711
  • Monument to TGMasaryk, erected in 1938 on the village square. The granite stele is one of the few Masaryk monuments that survived both dictatorships unscathed.
