history

Archaeological finds prove an early settlement of the area. There is a prehistoric burial site on the Hradiště. At the end of the 13th century, a small square water festival was built in Škvořetice on a branch of the Golden Trail leading from Vimperk via Volyně , Strakonice and Sedlice to Butice .

The first written mention of Škvořetice took place in 1299 in the Mirotitz church tithe registers. The first owners of the manor who were given by name were Jan ze Škvořetic in 1380 and Ondřej Mirovec in 1411 . The Vladiken family Mirovec von Mirovice held Škvořetice until 1444, when Jan called Šteker von Mirovice sold part of the property to Zdenko von Sternberg . The other part was owned by Beneš Kalenitz von Kalenitz at that time . He was able to acquire the entire estate in 1462 by purchasing the Sternberger share.

In 1541 the brothers Johann and Sigmund Kalenitz von Kalenitz on Skworetitz bought the town of Mirotice with the village of Lom from Adam Lev von Rosental . Two years later they were entered in the renewed land table as the owners of the fortress, the farm and the village of Skworetitz and the village of Leskovec. This entry is also the oldest written evidence of the Skworetitz Fortress.

From 1558 Johann d. J. Kalenitz von Kalenitz († 1586) sole owner of Skworetitz, in his time the fortress was converted into a renaissance castle. Subsequently, the owners of the property changed frequently. Among them were u. a. from 1668 to 1672 Georg Franz Ritter Daudlebsky von Daudleb , and then Johann Wilhelm Ritter Kalenitz von Kalenitz. The latter sold the Skworetitz Castle with two farms, a brewery and the associated villages Skworetitz, Muschetitz ( Mužetice ), Hněwkow ( Hněvkov ), Lom , Nieretsch ( Míreč ), Doll ( Důl ) and Patzelitz ( Pacelice ) in 1673 to Ferdinand Anton Malowetz von Cheynow and Winterberg . He signed the estate over in 1682 to his wife Maria Franziska, née Villani de Castelo Pilonico.

In 1701 the guardian of the Serényi orphans, Franz Wilhelm Salm-Reifferscheidt , bought the estate at the public auction of the estate of Maria Franziska Malowetz. Joseph Count Serényi von Kis-Serény united the Skworetitz estate with the Blatná lordship after reaching the age of majority .

1742 left the rule of his widow Maria Elisabeth, born Countess von Waldstein, for usufruct. After their death in 1787 the brothers Joseph Vinzenz, Amandus, Johann Nepomuk and Ludwig Serényi inherited from Kis-Serény. They sold the Blatná rule on November 7, 1798 to the Imperial and Royal Chamberlain Wenzel Hildprandt Freiherr von und zu Ottenhausen. In 1803 his son Franz Hildprandt von und zu Ottenhausen inherited the property.

In 1840 Skworetitz or Schkworetitz / Sskworetice or Sskworeč consisted of 65 houses with 437 Czech-speaking residents. In the village there was a castle with an apartment for officials, a school, a farm, a sheep farm and an inn. In addition, there existed in the village of the Johann Kalbatsch owned Freisassenhof Skworetz (No. 5). The parish was Sedlitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Skworetitz was always subject to the Blatná rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Škvořetice / Skworetitz 1850 a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district Blatná. At the end of the 19th century, Škvoretice was temporarily used as the place name, the current form of the name Škvořetice was introduced in 1924.

On June 24, 1958, a flood of the Škvořetický creek caused severe damage in Škvořetice. In the course of the abolition of the Okres Blatná, Škvořetice was assigned to the Okres Strakonice in 1960. 1964 Pacelice and on July 1, 1974 Lom (with Míreč and Neradov) was incorporated. After a referendum, Lom, Míreč and Neradov broke away from Škvořetice on November 24, 1990 and formed the municipality of Lom.

coat of arms

Since 2004 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner. The coat of arms consists of red and silver crenellated halves and shows a gold armored arm with a heart impaled on a blue sword and a gold crown. The pewter cut symbolizes the Škvořetice festivals, red and silver the heraldic colors of the Kalenitz von Kalenitz knights. The crown and heart stand for a symbolism of Mary, the armored arm is borrowed from the coat of arms of Hildprandt von und zu Ottenhausen.
