Mackov (German Motzdorf or Matzdorf , also wedge ) is a deserted area on the ridge of the Eastern Ore Mountains in Okres Teplice , Czech Republic . The Mackov cadastre with an area of ​​540.5528 hectares belongs to the city of Osek today .

Mackov was located 818 meters above sea level on the upper reaches of the Mackovský creek ( Motzdorfer Bach ). The place was at the intersection of the roads between Fláje and Oldříš and between Vilejšov and the Žebrácký raw .

Neighboring towns were Pastviny in the north, Moldava and Oldříš in the north-east, Nové Město in the east, Hrob , Křižanov and Domaslavice in the south-east, Vilejšov in the south, Fláje in the south-west, Český Jiřetín in the west and Horní Ves and Žebrácký roh in the north-west.

history

The scattered settlement emerged at the end of the 18th century and was first mentioned in 1787. The residents lived by raising cattle, growing potatoes and cabbage, and making clapboards. The place was popularly called Keil .

In 1831 Motzdorf consisted of 52 houses with 321 German-speaking residents. There was a grinder in the village . The parish was Fley . Motzdorf remained subordinate to the Dux rule until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Motzdorf including the Customs House Bette leak after 1850 a district of the municipality Fleyh in Leitmeritzer county and judicial district Dux. From 1868 the village belonged to the Teplitz district and from 1896 to the Dux district . In 1890, 305 people lived in the 62 houses in Motzdorf . In 1921 the village consisted of 59 houses in which 321 people lived. Since the 1920s, the place was officially called Matzdorf . Between the world wars, a house for friends of nature and an air bath were built in Matzdorf . The place advertised as a high altitude health resort . As a result of the Munich Agreement , Matzdorf was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Dux district until 1945 . After the end of the war, Matzdorf returned to Czechoslovakia and the German-Bohemian population was largely expelled . A repopulation did not succeed. In 1947, the official renaming took place Matzdorf in Mackov . In the 1950s only the Preissler, Pleiner and Rudolf families lived in the village. Most of the vacant houses were devastated and ruined. A few were used by Czechs as holiday homes. In the course of the construction of the Fláje drinking water dam , the village, located in the water catchment area by the Mackovský potok, was abandoned in 1955. With the dissolution of the municipality of Fláje, Mackov was added to the city of Osek in 1956 . Then the entire village was torn down.

Today only a few remains of the wall can be found on the edge of the forest.
