Dušan Kuciak (born May 21, 1985 in Žilina , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak football player . He has been under contract with Lechia Gdańsk in Ekstraklasa , Poland , since February 2017 .
Career
society
Dušan Kuciak began his professional career in 2001 at the age of 16 with FK AS Trenčín . Since he mostly just sat on the bench, he moved two years later to the Slovakian champions MŠK Žilina , who was looking for an aspiring young goalkeeper. There he got more time and played between 2003 and 2008, interrupted only by a brief stint at the English club West Ham United to which he was loaned in 2005, a total of 89 games.
In 2008 he moved to Romania to FC Vaslui . Here he reached the cup final in 2010 and, with a third place at the end of the 2010/11 season, qualified for the Champions League . He then left the club and joined the Polish first division club Legia Warsaw .
In February 2016, Kuciak moved to the English second division club Hull City . There he is number three behind David Marshall and Eldin Jakupović . After not being used for Hull, he returned to Poland in early February 2017, where he joined first division side Lechia Gdańsk .
National team
On December 10, 2006, Kuciak played his first A international match against the United Arab Emirates. With the Slovak national team he qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa . There he was a substitute goalkeeper behind Ján Mucha .
