Błażej Augustyn (born January 26, 1988 in Strzelin ) is a Polish football player .

Career

society

Augustyn's career began in his home country with Strzelinianka Strzelin. Via the stations Śląsk Wrocław and UKS SMS Łódź, he joined the youth department of the English football club Bolton Wanderers in 2005 . In July 2006 he came to the reserve team. The Pole made his competitive debut for the Trotters in the third round of the FA Cup against the Doncaster Rovers , when he was substituted on for Abdoulaye Méïté . In England, the 191 cm tall central defender played mainly for the Bolton Wanderers reserve team. In the 2007/08 season he played again in Poland for Legia Warszawa . With the Polish first division team he was able to win the national cup in his first year. In the 2008/09 season Augustyn was awarded to Rimini Calcio in the Italian Serie B. From summer 2009, the defender played for the Italian first division club Catania Calcio , but was loaned to Vicenza Calcio in Serie B in the 2011/12 season. For the 2013/14 season Augustyn moved back to his home country to Górnik Zabrze . During his time in Italy he played 17 league games in Serie A and 30 league games in Serie B. For Górnik Zabrze he played 22 times in the Ekstraklasa in 1.5 years and scored 2 goals. However, he could never play permanently in the regular team. For the 2015/2016 season, Błażej Augustyn moved to Heart of Midlothian FC in Scotland . For the Hearts, he completed 22 league games. After his contract with the Scots was not renewed, Augustyn moved to the Italian Serie B to Ascoli Picchio FC in 1898 , where he signed for 2 years. Since 2017 he has been playing for Lechia Gdańsk in the Ekstraklasa. Here he was able to win the national cup again in 2019 .
