Rafał Wolski (born November 10, 1992 in Kozienice , Poland ) is a Polish football player . He plays in midfield preferably as an attacking midfielder .

Club career

Rafał Wolski played in his youth from 2001 to 2008 for the lower class club Jastrząb Głowaczów before he moved to the youth of the first division Legia Warsaw . There he only made the jump to the second team at the beginning of the 2009/10 season , which plays in the separate junior league Młoda Ekstraklasa , before he also made the jump to the first team in the second half of the season. On March 6, 2011, the 17th matchday of the 2010/11 season , he made his debut under coach Maciej Skorża in the Ekstraklasa when he came on in the home game against Polonia Warsaw (1-0) in the third minute of added time for Miroslav Radović . In early May 2011, he won the Polish Cup with Legia Warsaw . While he only made four short appearances in the 2010/11 season, he established himself as a regular player in the 2011/12 season. He scored his first goal in the Ekstraklasa on October 23, 2011, the 11th matchday of the 2011/12 season, in the home game against Widzew Łódź (2-0), when he was still in after being substituted in for Maciej Rybus in the 82nd minute the 90th minute scored the goal to the final score. At the end of April 2012 , he won the trophy for the second time with Legia. Due to a heel injury , Wolski did not play a single game in the first half of the 2012/13 season .

At the end of January 2013, according to media reports, Wolski switched to the Italian first division club Fiorentina for almost 2.7 million euros . In addition, Legia Warsaw would get ten percent on the next sale. He signed a contract until the end of June 2017. Before that, he had completed a trial session at Fiorentina.

In the summer of 2014 he was loaned to the second division club FC Bari 1908 to get match practice. Here he played seven games in the 2nd division. This loan ended in January 2015 and Wolski was on loan to KV Mechelen in Belgium until summer 2016 . For the Belgians, he completed a total of 21 league games and scored 2 goals. At the end of February 2016, Rafał Wolski was awarded to the Polish club Wisła Krakow .

National team

Rafał Wolski has played for all youth teams of the Polish Football Association since the U-19s and made his debut on August 31, 2011 in the game against the German U-20s (2-4) when he came on for Jan Pawłowski at halftime .

On May 2, 2012, he was nominated by national coach Franciszek Smuda in the preliminary squad for the 2012 European Football Championship in Poland and Ukraine , although he had not yet played an international match. On May 22, 2012, he made his debut in the Polish national soccer team , when he was in the starting line-up in the preparation game for the EM in Klagenfurt against Latvia (1-0). He was substituted at half-time. On May 27, 2012 he was nominated for the final squad for the EM. However, it was not used there.
