Sławomir Konrad Peszko [ swaˈvɔmir ˈpɛʃkɔ ] (born February 19, 1985 in Jedlicze , Krosno Voivodeship ) is a Polish football player .
Club career
Beginnings
Peszko began his career in Nafta Jedlicze's youth team . He joined Orlen Płock's youth team in 2001 (from 2002 Wisła Płock ) and was substituted on for the first time in the professional team on August 28, 2002 in the Polish Cup against Jagiellonka Nieszawa . For the second half of the season he was firmly integrated into the squad of the first team, on April 5, 2003 he came to Widzew Łódź for his first use in the Ekstraklasa . In the first half of the 2003/04 season he became a regular and scored on October 29, 2003, again against Widzew Łódź, his first professional goal. With Wisła he won the Polish Cup and the Polish Supercup in 2006. Internationally, he was used for Wisła in the UEFA Cup qualification of the 2005/06 season. He had his first game on August 11, 2005 against Grasshoppers Zurich , when he was substituted on for Adrian Mierzejewski in the 0-1 defeat in Zurich in the 66th minute . 2007 Peszko was relegated with Wisła, he had scored 16 goals in 26 games in the 2007/08 season in the II division.
Lech poses
On June 30, 2008, his contract ended with Wisła Płock and he moved back to the top Polish league to Lech Posen . He got the number 17 and immediately prevailed as a regular in the right attacking midfield. On May 19, 2009 he won the Polish Cup with Lech; he scored the decisive goal in the final against Ruch Chorzów to win 1-0. A year later he became Polish champion with Lech; he had given 14 assists in 28 games and scored eight goals. Only his team-mate Robert Lewandowski had more scorer points.
1. FC Cologne
For the second half of the 2010/11 season Peszko moved to the German Bundesliga for 1. FC Köln . He signed a contract until the end of the season with an option to extend, which he also used.
Loan to England
After relegation, he was loaned to English second division team Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2012 , who also secured a purchase option. So he followed his ex-trainer Ståle Solbakken .
FC Parma and return to 1. FC Cologne
After the Wanderers' relegation, Peszko returned to 1. FC Köln in the summer of 2013. A move to FC Parma in Serie A was reported, whereby he should appear on loan for 1. FC Köln in the 2013/14 season . On August 20, 2013, all parties finally agreed that Peszko would be loaned to 1. FC Köln for one year. He scored his first goal on his comeback on September 1, 2013 against Erzgebirge Aue with a header to make it 4-1. After 1. FC Köln's promotion to the Bundesliga and strong performances from Poland, it was agreed that Peszko would be signed by 1. FC Köln from the 2014/15 season . He signed on May 9, 2014 until summer 2016.
Lechia Gdańsk
Shortly before the end of the transfer period in the summer of 2015, Peszko signed a contract with Lechia Gdańsk in his home country in order to collect match practice for a possible European Championship participation in his home country in 2016 and to recommend himself for the same. He scored his first goal for Lechia on February 13, 2016 in the game against Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała . Peszko marked the 5-0 final score with his goal.
National team
Peszko played three internationals for the Polish U-21 selection .
The midfielder made his senior national team debut on November 19, 2008 in a friendly against Ireland . Peszko came on in the 70th minute for Rafał Boguski , the game ended 3-2 for Poland. He scored his first goal for Poland on January 17, 2010 in a 3-1 loss to Denmark . Although he subsequently played numerous friendlies, he still did not make it into the Polish squad at the 2012 home European championship . There followed a longer break, also due to an injury, and then isolated missions. In the 1-1 draw in the European Championship qualifier against Ireland on March 29, 2015, he played almost the full season for the first time and also scored his second goal in the national shirt. Then he was included in Poland 's EM squad for the first time . He played three times in the tournament as a substitute in the final minutes: in the opening game against Northern Ireland and against Germany in Game 2 and in the round of 16 against Switzerland in extra time. The team reached the quarter-finals and was eliminated.
At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he was part of the Polish squad . He was used in a group game and retired with the team after the group stage.

Peszko spent the night from April 7th to 8th, 2012, shortly after 1. FC Köln played 1-1 against Werder Bremen in the relegation battle ( Bundesliga 2011/12 / 29th matchday), Peszko spent in a sobering cell in Cologne- Kalk, after he had rioted drunk in a taxi and later at the Stolkgasse police station. This resulted in a fine (around 25,000 euros ) and the suspension for the away game at 1. FSV Mainz 05 two days later.
