Adrian Mierzejewski (born November 6, 1986 in Olsztyn , Poland ) is a Polish football player . He has been playing for al-Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates since the 2016/17 season .
Club career
Mierzejewski's first professional station was from 2003 to 2004 Stomil Olsztyn in the second Polish division. Then he played, with a short break in 2006 and 2007, for Wisła Płock . Here he also made his debut in the Ekstraklasa , the first Polish league. In the spring of 2008 he was finally signed by Polonia Warsaw and quickly developed into one of the best midfielders in the league.
In the summer of 2011 he moved to the Turkish runner-up, Trabzonspor . At this club he managed to jump into the regular formation right away. In his second season for Trabzonspor, he scored eight goals in eight games in the national cup competition and was thus involved in the cup finals of his club. In the cup final they lost to Fenerbahçe Istanbul 0-1.
After three seasons in Turkey , Mierzejewski moved to the 2014/15 season for the Saudi Arabian club al-Nasr , with whom he signed a three-year contract. With al-Nasr he won the Saudi Arabian championship in the 2014/15 season . For the 2016/17 season he moved to al-Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates for a year .
National team
Mierzejewski played six times for the Polish U-21 national team . In 2010 he was nominated for the first time for the Polish national team by national coach Franciszek Smuda . He made his debut in the friendly against Finland on May 29, 2010. His last international match so far was against Slovakia on November 15, 2013 (0-2).
Trivia
Mierzejewski scored the Trabzonspors 2000 with his goal against Çaykur Rizespor on the 2nd match day of the 2013/14 season . First division.
