Jedlicze [ jɛdˈlʲit͡ʂɛ ] is a city in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the town-and-country municipality of the same name with around 15,500 inhabitants.

Jedlicze is located in southeastern Poland, about 35 kilometers north of the border with Slovakia and 80 kilometers west of the Ukrainian border.
history
The first mention of today's Jedlicze comes from the year 1410. The settlement was granted city rights in 1768 by Stanislaus II August Poniatowski . During the first partition of Poland , the city came to Austria . In 1884 it was connected to the rail network and at the end of the 19th century an oil refinery was built. After the First World War , the city became part of the re-established Poland . In 1925 about 800 people lived in Jedlicze. On September 8, 1939, the city was occupied by the Wehrmacht . The occupation lasted until the Red Army marched in in January 1945. Then the place became part of Poland again.

North of the city runs the state road 28, which leads through Krosno, only a few kilometers away, in the east and through Jasło in the west after about ten kilometers .
Jedlicze has a train station with direct connections to Sanok and Jasło, among other things .
The nearest international airport is Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport, about 50 kilometers to the north .
