Wesley Lopes da Silva (born November 10, 1980 in Vila Velha , Espírito Santo ) is a former Brazilian football player . He played a total of 267 games in the Brazilian Série A , the Portuguese Primeira Liga , the Spanish Primera División , the Swiss Super League , the Romanian Liga 1 , the Saudi Professional League and the Colombian Categoría Primera A .
Career
At the beginning of 2007 he played for a few months in the Swiss Axpo Super League at Grasshopper Club Zurich , the country's record champion and cup winner. After two years in the first Portuguese division with FC Paços de Ferreira and Leixões SC , he played in the Romanian first division with FC Vaslui from 2009 to 2012 . With 27 goals he was the top scorer in Romania in 2012 before moving to al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. There he and his team finished the 2012/13 season as runner-up and with 17 goals as second on the list of goalscorers. In early 2014, he was hired by Millonarios FC in Colombia. In summer 2014 he returned to Romania, where CSMS Iași signed him. After eight appearances, he left the club in early 2015. Wesley moved to União Barbarense in his Brazilian homeland, where he ended his career a few months later.
