Otto Henrik Fredrikson (born November 30, 1981 in Valkeakoski ) is a Finnish football player . The goalkeeper , who made his debut for the Finnish national team in 2008 , has been under contract in Finland, Germany, Norway and Russia in his career so far.
Career
Fredrikson lived with his family in Burgsteinfurt in the late 1980s , where he was active in the youth team of Schwarz-Gelb Burgsteinfurt . After returning to Finland in 1990, he began playing football at FC Haka . From there he moved to the youth department of Oulun Luistinseura in 1995 . Here he played his way into the junior teams of the Suomen Palloliitto . In 1999 he moved to Tervarit Oulu , where he played the next two years mainly as a junior player.
With the Finnish U-20 team Fredrikson took on the side of players like Mikael Forssell , Antti Okkonen and Daniel Sjölund at the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship in part. He fell to the scouts of the German club Borussia Mönchengladbach , who signed him after his return to the Bundesliga as the third goalkeeper behind Jörg Stiel and Michael Melka . In the first division of the Lower Rhine region he was not used in the following year and a half due to injury, among other things, although he had slipped back in the hierarchy after Claus Reitmaier was signed up. Therefore, the club loaned him to FF Jaro from December 2003 to collect match practice in his home country.
Fredrikson established himself in the Veikkausliiga as a regular goalkeeper. With the team he played against relegation, but was able to create relegation within the two seasons in which he ran up in Finland. In December 2005 Gladbach dissolved his contract.
Fredrikson moved as a substitute goalkeeper from Claus Reitmaier and Heinz Müller to Lillestrøm SK in the Norwegian Tippeligaen and was initially only used when the two Germans were injured. After Reitmaier's career ended at the end of 2006, he moved up to become the second goalkeeper and inherited Müller, who had moved to England, in the summer of 2007 as a regular goalkeeper. In autumn he reached the Norwegian Cup final with Bjørn Helge Riise , Khaled Mouelhi and Anders Rambekk's team , which was won by two goals from Olivier Occean with a 2-0 win over FK Haugesund . The following year he played himself in the notebook of national coach Stuart Baxter . As a substitute, he made his debut on May 29, 2008 in a 2-0 defeat in a European Championship preparation game of the Turkish national team as a substitute in the second half in the Finnish national jersey. As a result, he was used as a replacement for the national team goalkeeper Jussi Jääskeläinen only irregularly.
In spring 2010, Fredrikson left the Norwegian Tippeligaen and joined the Russian club Spartak Nalchik . As a regular goalkeeper on the side of players like Dawit Siradse , Milan Jovanović or Miodrag Džudović , he ran for the club in the Premjer League . As a result, he established himself in the goal of the national team.
