Career
Early on in his career, Riise was associated with a number of English top division clubs, but his then-club Aalesunds could not agree on any transfer. After the year in Brussels he went back to Norway and signed with Lillestrøm SK . After four years in Norway, he signed a three-year contract with the English first division club Fulham in July 2009 . With Fulham he reached the final of the UEFA Europa League . In the final defeat against Atlético Madrid (1: 2 after extra time) he was not used. In February 2011, Riise was loaned to Sheffield United until the end of the season. Another loan deal, this time to Portsmouth , took place in September 2011. The contract with Riise was not renewed and so he returned to Lillestrøm SK in the summer of 2012 for free.
