Newton Ben Katanha (born February 3, 1983 in Seke ) is a Zimbabwean football player .

Career

The striker Newton Ben Katanha began his professional career at CAPS United from the Zimbabwean capital Harare . In the summer of 1999 he moved to the Austrian first division club Austria Salzburg , for whom he only appeared twice. Ben Katanha then moved to the second division club BSV Bad Bleiberg , where he met 15 times in 51 games. In the summer of 2003 he went to the German second division Arminia Bielefeld . With one goal in 22 games, he played his part in Arminia's promotion to the Bundesliga.

Ben Katanha moved to MPPJ Selangor from Malaysia after the end of the season and then played for a year at the Russian club Spartak Nalschik , where he only received one assignment and was immediately unemployed for half a year. In the summer of 2007, Ben Katanha moved to the Swiss second division club FC Schaffhausen , for whom he scored 29 goals in three years. Three years at FC Winterthur followed . Ben Katanha has been playing for the Phnom Penh Crown club from Cambodia since summer 2014 .

Between 2001 and 2005, Ben Katanha played three times for the Zimbabwean national team , but remained without a goal.
