Alexis "Lexi" Kaufman (born August 9, 1991 in Columbus , Ohio ), known by her ring name Alexa Bliss , is an American wrestler . She is under contract with the wrestling organization WWE and operates in their SmackDown brand.

Her greatest achievements are winning the WWE Raw Women's Championship three times and winning the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship twice . She is the first female wrestler to win the titles of both brands.

Private life

Alexa Bliss has Italian roots. She has been active in sports since she was five, including softball, running, kickboxing and athletics. In cheerleading, she achieved Division I status in college. To compensate for a life-threatening eating disorder, she began bodybuilding . Since 2011 she has participated in the Arnold Classic .

Kaufman was engaged to her former tag team partner Buddy Murphy .

Wrestling career

WWE (since 2013)

NXT (2013-2016)

Kaufman signed a contract with WWE in May 2013 and was assigned to the WWE NXT Development League . She first appeared on the July 24, 2013 NXT episode when she congratulated then- NXT Women's Champion Paige on winning the title. As of August 2013, she was listed on WWE.com under her ring name Alexa Bliss . In the NXT episode of November 20, 2013, she was seen as the ring announcer.

She made her first appearance in the WWE main roaster on WrestleMania XXX on April 6, 2014, where she was seen in Triple H's invasion. She made her first TV appearance in a wrestling match on May 8, 2014 at NXT as a participant in the tournament for the vacant NXT Women's Championship. She defeated Alicia Fox in the first round, but lost to Charlotte in the semifinals.

On May 20, 2015, Kaufman closed at Unstoppable: NXT Takeover the NXT Tag Team Champions Blake and Murphy , and served from now on as the valet . Kaufman was separated from the team on the May 18, 2016 edition of NXT.

SmackDown and SmackDown Women's Champion (2016-2017)

Alexa Bliss named Raw Women's Champion in 2017.

On July 19, 2016, Kaufman was drafted to SmackDown as part of the WWE Draft and was thus an integral part of the WWE Main Roster. She won her first fight on SmackDown Live on August 9, 2016 against Becky Lynch . On December 4, 2016 she won the SmackDown Women's Championship from Becky Lynch at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs .

On February 12, 2017, at WWE Elimination Chamber , she lost her title to Naomi . After a match against Becky Lynch for the vacant title, Kaufman received the SmackDown Women's Championship for the second time on February 21, 2017 at SmackDown. On April 2, 2017 at Wrestlemania 33 , she lost her title to Naomi in a six-pack challenge , in which Becky Lynch, Carmella, Mickie James and Natalya were also involved.

Raw and Raw Women's Champion (2017-2019)

On April 10, 2017, as part of the Superstar Shake-up , she switched to the raw roster. On April 30, 2017 at PPV Payback , she won Bayley 's Raw Women's Championship . By winning this title, she is the first female wrestler in the WWE to win the SmackDown and Raw titles at least once. On April 4, 2017 at the PPV Extreme Rules , Bliss was able to successfully defend her title against Bayley in a Kendo Stick on a Pole Match . At SummerSlam on August 20, 2017, she lost the title to Sasha Banks . On August 28, 2017, she won the title back, making her two-time champion on Raw. At Wrestlemania 34, she had to surrender the title to Nia Jax, but got it back on June 18, 2018 after she won the second Women's Money In The Bank match that evening and immediately redeemed the contract she won. This reign lasted 63 days and she finally lost her title to Ronda Rousey at Summerslam on August 19, 2018 . Since then, she's struggled with many injuries, which is why she rarely appears in raw matches and tends to appear in talk shows like The Moment of Bliss. She was also the host of WrestleMania 35 . On June 23, 2019, she played a match for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship against Bayley at WWE Stomping Grounds, but she lost it. On July 14th she lost another match for the title with Nikki Cross, this was a 2 on 1 handicap match . On August 5, 2019, Bliss and Nikki Cross won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship from The IIconics Billie Kay & Peyton Royce . On August 11, 2019, they defended the Tag Team title against The IIconics Billie Kay & Peyton Royce at WWE SummerSlam . The reign lasted 62 days and finally lost the title on October 6, 2019 to The Kabuki Warriors Asuka and Kairi Sane.

Return to SmackDown (since 2019)

As part of the WWE Draft, Bliss switched from Raw to SmackDown on October 15, 2019 . On April 4, 2020, she won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship again together with Nikki Cross . For this they defeated The Kabuki Warriors Asuka and Kairi Sane. This reign lasted 62 days and eventually lost the titles to Bayley and Sasha Banks .
