Wrestling career

Beginnings

Bevis comes from a wrestler family. Both her parents and her two older brothers are professional wrestlers and mainly active in England. Due to these influences, she was fascinated by wrestling from an early age and began to let her family train her. At the age of 13, Bevis made her debut in the ring in 2005 in her parents' league, the World Association Of Wrestling. In the following years she appeared as Britani Knight in many leagues in Europe, including Germany. Bevis wanted to gain experience and has already achieved numerous successes.

WWE (since 2011)

NXT and first NXT Women's Champion (2011-2014)

In September 2011 Bevis signed a development contract with WWE . In July 2012, she made her debut as Paige in the newly formed development league WWE NXT and quickly became a crowd favorite due to her appearance and appearance as an anti-diva, which is atypical for WWE standards. A tournament for the NXT Women's Championship started in the summer of 2013 . Paige prevailed against Tamina Snuka , Alicia Fox and in the final on July 24, 2013 against Emma and became the first NXT Women's Champion. She successfully defended the title several times, including on February 27, 2014 at the first NXT Special Event Arrival in a rematch against Emma. On April 24, 2014, Paige resigned the title after her promotion to the main WWE shows without ever losing it so that it can continue to be fought at NXT.

Main roster debut and WWE Divas Champion (2014-2015)

Paige as WWE Divas Champion (2014).

Paige made her first appearance on the WWE Main Shows on April 7, 2014, when she wanted to congratulate then WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee on Monday Night RAW for successfully defending his title at WrestleMania XXX. Lee saw herself as the leader of the women's division that defeated everyone and challenged Paige to a match in which she put the WWE Divas Championship on the line. Paige surprisingly won this match and at the age of 21 became the youngest female title holder of the Divas Championship in WWE history. She also became the only female wrestler to hold the NXT Women's Championship and the WWE Divas Championship at the same time. Paige successfully defended her title at Extreme Rules 2014 against Tamina Snuka and at Money in the Bank 2014 against Naomi . AJ Lee then returned after a break and took Paige's title on Monday Night RAW. After the pay-per-view WWE Battleground 2014, Paige Heel did gymnastics and continued the feud against AJ Lee. At the biggest event of the summer, SummerSlam 2014 on August 17, 2014, she won against Lee and won the WWE Divas Championship for the second time. On September 21, 2014, however, she lost the title to AJ Lee at the Night of Champions 2014 in a triple threat match against AJ Lee and Nikki Bella. At Hell in a Cell 2014 there was the last meeting between Paige and AJ Lee, which Lee could decide for himself.

In the spring of 2015, the two allied against the Bella Twins ( Nikki Bella and Brie Bella ). This led to a tag team match at WrestleMania 31, which Paige and AJ Lee won. On April 13, 2015, Paige won a Battle Royal at RAW in London, which entitles her to challenge the reigning WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella. Paige lost that match at Money in the Bank 2015 after an unfair intervention by Brie Bella and Alicia Fox, who repeatedly helped Nikki to victory. This led to the Divas Revolution at RAW on July 13, 2015, when the NXT divas Charlotte , Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks unexpectedly showed up to confront Team Bella with Paige. This was followed by a 3-team tag team match at SummerSlam 2015, which team PCB (Paige, Charlotte, Becky Lynch) against team Bella (Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Alicia Fox) and team BAD (Naomi, Tamina Snuka , Sasha Banks). At the end of 2015 Paige was feuding with Charlotte, the reigning Divas Championesse. However, she was subject to this in both the Survivor Series and TLC 2015.

Injury and resignation (2016-2018)

On April 3, 2016 at WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium , the largest WrestleMania of all time according to WWE data with 101,763 spectators, Paige kicked off a 5-on-5 tag team match, which her team won. On August 18, the WWE suspended her for 30 days for violating its own anti- doping policy ( Wellness Policy ) because she was late for a doping test. At the same time, Paige suffered from a serious neck injury in the second half of 2016, which resulted in a longer break. In October 2016, she was banned for 60 days for another anti-doping rule violation.

On November 20, 2017, she made her comeback on Monday Night Raw.

In mid-January 2018 it was announced that due to an injury she sustained in a match with Sasha Banks on December 28, 2017, she would no longer get ring clearance in the WWE and would end her career.

SmackDown General Manager (2018)

On April 10, 2018, she was introduced as the new General Manager of SmackDown Live. On December 18 of the same year, the owner of WWE Vince McMahon dismissed the general managers of Smackdown and RAW as part of a reorientation of the company. Paige stayed with the company.

Outside the ring

In the documentary The Wrestlers: Fighting with my Family , the family was accompanied by Bevis in 2012. The documentary also shows how Bevis takes part in the WWE tryouts. Another film based on Bevis' life is the 2019 feature film Fighting with My Family .

On October 20, 2014 it was announced that Paige would be on the main cast of the reality TV series Total Divas from the second half of the third season .

2015 she starred in the comedy Santa's Little Helper beside her wrestling colleagues Miz her first film role was a jury member in the sixth season of the talent show WWE Tough Enough and was a guest at the podcast by Steve Austin on the WWE Network.
