Cassandra Arneill (* November 10, 1992 in Sydney , Australia as Cassandra McIntosh) is an Australian wrestler who is currently under her ring name Peyton Royce under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE ) and has been in their Raw brand since April 2018 . Her biggest achievement so far was winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship with Billie Kay .

Private life

Cassandra (Cassie) Arneill was born in Sydney. She lived in Melbourne and Calgary ( Canada ) to train with Lance Storm . Before her wrestling career, she was a dancer. She attended Westfields Sports High School , as did her longtime friend Billie Kay, with whom she is currently tagging The IIconics . She took an interest in wrestling at the age of nine and was inspired by Eddie Guerrero to become a wrestler herself. Since 2019 she has been married to Shawn Spears (Ronnie W. Arneill), who is currently under contract with the competitive league All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Wrestling career

Beginnings

Arneill made her debut as a wrestler in 2009 with the Pro Wrestling Women's Alliance (PWWA) as KC Cassidy and has appeared in the independent scene at numerous wrestling organizations over the years. During this time she was once PWA Women's Champion and also won the Vera and Jenny Memorial Cup.

WWE (since 2015)

On April 13, 2015, World Wrestling Entertainment officially announced that McIntosh had signed a contract. There she became part of NXT . Her television debut followed on the NXT edition on May 15, 2015, when she lost under her ring name KC Cassidy to then NXT Women's Champion Sasha Banks . She later went under the ring name Cassie before she was given the ring name Peyton Royce on August 7, 2015. In October 2015, she became Billie Kay's tag team partner . The two started a feud against Liv Morgan and later against Asuka . They vied for the NXT Women's Championship several times without success .

On April 8, 2018, at WrestleMania 34 , she was part of the first WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal . Two days later, she and partner Billie Kay stepped up into the main roaster by debuting on SmackDown Live . They attacked WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair . On the same evening, their tag team was officially named The IIconics .

At WrestleMania 35 on April 7, 2019, Royce won her first WWE title, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship along with Billie Kay. For this they won a Fatal-4-Way-Tag Team-Match , in which Nia Jax and Tamina, The Divas of Doom ( Beth Phoenix and Natalya ) as well as the former champions The Boss 'n' Hug Connection ( Sasha Banks & Bayley ) were involved. This reign lasted 120 days. They lost the titles to Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross on August 5, 2019 on Raw . As part of the WWE Draft , Royce moved from SmackDown to Raw on October 15, 2019 .
