Gionna Jene Daddio (born June 8, 1994 in Paramus , New Jersey , USA ), better known by her ring name Liv Morgan , is an American wrestler . She is under contract with the wrestling organization WWE ( World Wrestling Entertainment ) and appears there on their show Raw .

Private life

Daddio was born in Paramus, New Jersey and raised in Elmwood Park , New Jersey. She attended Henry P. Becton Regional High School in East Rutherford . She has four older brothers and a sister. Her mother had to raise six children alone after Daddio's father passed away. Daddio was a wrestling fan in her youth and practiced with her siblings in a self-made ring behind their house. Her great role model was the wrestler Lita , who also resembled her in terms of clothing style.

Daddio is a former cheerleader who worked and modeled for the Hooters restaurant chain .

Wrestling career

WWE (since 2014)

NXT (2014-2017)

After Daddio was discovered in Joe DeFranco's Gym in Wyckoff , New Jersey in 2014 , she signed a contract with the WWE to train in their junior league NXT from October 2014 . She had her first TV appearance at the major event NXT TakeOver: Rival on February 11, 2015, where she played a fan who stormed Tyler Breeze during his invasion of the ring. She also appeared in other appearances by Tyler Breeze. Towards the end of 2015, she completed matches under the short-lived ring name Marley, but did not get beyond the status of a jobber .

On December 2, 2015, she first appeared under her current ring name Liv Morgan. Her first win on the TV show NXT was against Aliyah on August 31, 2016. She then feuded unsuccessfully for the NXT Women's Championship , but lost to reigning title holder Asuka in less than a minute .

Main roster debut (since 2017)

In the Smackdown Live episode from November 21, 2017 Morgan debuted with Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan, as the three of Charlotte flair , Naomi , Becky Lynch and Natalya attacked. They then formed the Riott Squad , led by Ruby Riott. At the 2018 Royal Rumble event , she took part in the WWE 's first ever Women's Royal Rumble match . She came into the ring as the 11th participant and was eliminated by Michelle McCool . At Wrestlemania 34 , Morgan was part of WrestleMania's Women's Battle Royal . At the Superstar Shake-Up on April 16, 2018, Morgan was drafted to RAW along with Riott and Logan . During the Royal Rumble 2019 on January 27th, Morgan set a record within the female WWE roster when she was eliminated from the match after just eight seconds.

As part of the 2019 Superstar Shake-Up , Morgan switched from Raw back to SmackDown on April 16, 2019 , disbanding the Riott Squad . As part of the WWE Draft , Morgan switched from SmackDown to Raw again on October 14, 2019 . She was the last official draft pick . After a short absence, she returned to the TV shows with a new gimmick and feuded with Lana, her former Riott Squad colleagues Sarah Logan and Ruby Riott as well as with The IIconics and Natalya .
