Jessica McKay (born June 23, 1989 in Sydney , Australia ) is an Australian wrestler who is currently under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and appears there under the name Billie Kay . Her greatest achievement so far has been winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship with Peyton Royce on The IIconics Tag Team .

Private life

Jessica McKay was born in Sydney and took an interest in wrestling with her brother when she was 10. She attended Westfields Sports High School, where she met her longtime friend and future tag team partner, Peyton Royce. Before signing a WWE contract, she played basketball .

Wrestling career

Beginnings

Jessica McKay was trained by Madison Eagles and made her debut on June 23, 2007 with the Pro Wrestling Women's Alliance (PWWA) in Australia under the name Jessie McKay. There she was able to win the PWWA Championship twice . In October 2008 she made her debut in the American women's wrestling league Shimmer , where she was regularly seen until 2013. At the same time she was able to make a name for herself in the independent scene by appearing in numerous other independent leagues.

WWE (since 2015)

On April 13, 2015, it was officially announced that McKay had signed a contract with WWE. First she appeared there as part of the NXT squad . She made her television debut in the NXT issue on June 10, 2015, where she lost to Becky Lynch . On August 7, 2015, she first appeared in a live event under the name Billie Kay, which she has been using since then. From September 2015 she worked regularly in a tag team with her long-time friend Peyton Royce. In December 2016, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce started a feud against the then reigning NXT Women's Championship Asuka , which led to a title match at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio on January 28, 2017, in which Nikki Cross was also involved. However, Kay couldn't win the title.

On April 10, 2018, she made her debut on the WWE main roaster at SmackDown Live , where she has since performed as The IIconics with Peyton Royce . In August, she and Peyton Royce started a feud program against Naomi and Asuka , which resulted in a match between the two teams at the WWE Super Showdown on October 6th in Kay's native Australia. The IIconics won this match in front of their home crowd. On January 27, 2019, she took part in her first Royal Rumble Match , which she could not win. On February 17, 2019, at WWE Elimination Chamber , she and Peyton Royce took part in a Tag Team Elimination Chamber Match for the newly introduced WWE Women's Tag Team Championship , which Bayley and Sasha Banks won. After that, however , The IIconics continued to feud against Banks and Bayley, leading to a title match at Wrestlemania 35 on April 7, 2019. At this Fatal Four-Way Match also were Nia Jax and Tamina and Beth Phoenix and Natalya involved. The IIconics won this match, which enabled Kay to win her first WWE title. Their reign lasted 120 days. They eventually lost the titles in another fatal four-way match to Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross on August 5, 2019 on Raw . As part of the WWE Draft , Kay officially switched from SmackDown to Raw on October 15, 2019 .
