In the debut season, Hello United reached the final of the play-offs , but what was lost against Khemara 3-0. Before the 2006 season, it was renamed Phnom Penh United again . In the 2006 season, the club reached the final of the play-offs, but Khemara had to be beaten again , this time 4-5. In 2007 there was the next renaming, the club appeared from then on as Phnom Penh Empire .

The club achieved their first championship title of the Cambodian Premier League in the 2008 season. As a result, Phnom Penh qualified for the AFC President's Cup 2009 , in which the club was eliminated in the group stage. In the same year, the club won the national cup competition with a 1-0 win over Preah Khan Reach . In 2009 it was renamed for the last time to Phnom Penh Crown . Last year's cup win was successfully defended thanks to a 1-0 win over Nagacorp FC . In 2010 and 2011 the club was able to win the Cambodian football championship again. At the AFC President's Cup 2011 , the club reached the final against Taiwan Power Company FC . The game played on September 25, 2011 was just lost 3-2 and Phnom Penh missed winning the title. Phnom Penh Crown won two more national championship titles in 2014 and 2015. Since 2014 the Cambodian soccer champions have been given a starting place at the Mekong Club Championship . There Phnom Penh reached third place in 2014 after defeating Hoang Anh Attapeu FC from Laos . The Cambodian football champions have also been allowed to take part in the AFC Cup since 2016, but the Football Federation of Cambodia did not register a participant in 2016 . For the AFC Cup 2017 , Phnom Penh Crown originally qualified as champions of the 2015 season, but was excluded from the Asian Football Confederation due to match- fixing and the winner of the 2016 season, Boeung Ket Angkor, moved up. After a decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport , Phnom Penh Crown was allowed to take part in this tournament and Cambodia had two participants in the tournament once. However, Phnom Penh was eliminated in the play-off round after two defeats against Singaporean representatives Home United .

In 2016 and 2017, the club reached 5th place in the domestic league and thus missed the play-offs for the championship decision.
