Hannes Þorsteinn Sigurðsson (born April 10, 1983 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic football player.

Career

The 1.89 tall striker began his career in 2000 with Icelandic club FH Hafnarfjörður . From 2002 to 2005 he was under contract with Viking Stavanger in Norway . After 65 league games (15 goals), he moved to the English club Stoke City in 2005 , where he was under contract for two seasons. His next stop was the Danish club Brøndby IF . In 2007 he returned to Viking Stavanger and in 2008 he signed a contract with the Swedish club GIF Sundsvall until 2010 . After three years he returned for one season to the Icelandic club FH Hafnarfjörður; he played twelve league games and scored three goals. His next stop was the Russian club Spartak Nalchik , for whom he played six league games in the 2011/12 season. In 2012 he signed a contract with the Kazakh club FK Atyrau (15 league games, three goals). After the season he moved to the Swedish club Mjällby AIF . Before the 2013/14 season he moved to the Austrian club SV Grödig , and in 2014 to the Norwegian club Sandnes Ulf . From February 2015 he played for the German third division club SSV Jahn Regensburg . At the end of the 2014/15 season, Hannes Sigurðsson left the club again.

Hannes Sigurðsson took part in 14 games with the Icelandic U-21s and scored seven goals. From 2005 to 2008 he played 13 international matches for the Icelandic national soccer team and scored one goal.
