Łukasz Gikiewicz (born October 26, 1987 in Olsztyn , Poland ) is a Polish football player who is under contract with the Thai club Ratchaburi FC. He is primarily used as a center forward.

Career

In his youth, Gikiewicz played with Warmia Olsztyn , OKS Stomil Olsztyn and Tempo 25 Olsztyn in his hometown , before he took his first steps in the adult division in the lower league division with DKS Dobre Miasto , Motor Lubawa and Drwęca Nowe Miasto Lubawskie. In summer 2007, his first professional station was Olimpia Elbląg . After a few weeks, however, he was given to the equal club Wigry Suwałki . The following summer he moved to Unia Janikowo, but at the beginning of 2009 he switched again and joined Polonia Bytom in the Ekstraklasa . After only six months he moved on. Next stop was the second-rate in the first league An incoming ŁKS Łódź . Here, with eleven goals this season, he was one of the pillars of the return to the Ekstraklasa.

Gikiewicz left despite the rise ŁKS Łódź and joined the league rivals Śląsk Wrocław in July 2010 , where he signed a four-year contract. At the end of his second year at the club, he won the Polish championship with Orest Lenczyk 's team around Sebastian Mila , Rok Elsner and Marián Kelemen . In the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League 2012/13 he was still successful against FK Budućnost Podgorica from Montenegro , after two defeats against the Swedish double winner Helsingborgs IF he was eliminated from the Champions League qualification and was in the play-off In the round of the 2012/13 UEFA Europa League, the German club Hannover 96 were drawn as opponents.

In the summer of 2013 he moved to Cyprus to Omonia Nicosia , where he scored seven goals in 22 league games. In 2014 he signed a contract with the Kazakh team Tobol Qostanai . However, he did not find his way in the new environment, was rarely used and did not score a single hit. He returned to Cyprus for the 2014/2015 season and signed with AEL Limassol . However, he could not really convince with three goals in ten games, and the ongoing contract was canceled by mutual agreement at the end of the first half of the season. In mid-February 2015 he signed a 1.5-year contract with the Bulgarian club Levski Sofia . In Bulgaria, however, he could not prevail and came to only 6 league games in which he scored 2 goals. In September 2015, Gikiewicz moved to Saudi Arabia to the Al-Wehda Club . He could not gain a foothold here either and already changed employers again in February 2016 and signed a 1-year contract with the Thai club Ratchaburi FC.
