Ratchaburi Mitr Phol Football Club  (Thai สโมสร ฟุตบอล ราชบุรี มิตร ผล) is a Thai football club based in the Ratchaburi province of the same name . The Ratchaburi Mitr Phol FC plays in the highest Thai league, the Thai League 1. Ratchaburi's nickname is "The Dragons".

Club history

The association was founded in 2004. Until 2007 they played in the second division, the Thai Premier League Division 1 . With a twelfth place in 2007 they rose to the Regional League Division 2 , the third division of Thailand. Here the club played in the Central / East region. In 2011 they became champions and rose again to the Thai Premier League Division 1. After only one year in Division 1, they immediately made it to the Thai Premier League , the first division of Thailand. The first year they took 15th place. In the following years you always had a single-digit place in the table. In 2018 they finished twelfth and held the class, as at the end of the season five clubs had to compete in the Thai League 2 . At the beginning of 2018, the former German national player Christian Ziege took over the coaching position. However, Ziege gave it up after only two months due to conflicts with the owner family. The Austrian coach Lassaad Chabbi and the Italian Marco Simone only stayed a few months in Ratchaburi in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Stadion

Mitr-Phol stage

From 2007 to 2016 the club played at Ratchaburi Stadium . As this no longer met the requirements, the decision was made to build a new stadium in 2016 . The stadium was built in Huai Phai City. After completion, the stadium will hold 10,000 visitors. The stadium was named after the main sponsor Mitr Phol Stadium (Thai: มิตร ผล ส เต เดี้ย ม). The stadium is owned by Ratchaburi Mitr Phol FC . The stadium is purely a football stadium.
