Lassaad Chabbi (born August 23, 1961 in Tunis ) is an Austrian football coach of Tunisian origin.

Career

Chabbi began his coaching career with the amateurs of SC Austria Lustenau . In 2001 he became Edi Stöhr's assistant trainer for the professionals. With the German he went to Tunisia in 2003 for CO Transports and at the same time worked for the Tunisian association. Then he coached the Austrian amateur club FC Rätia Bludenz from 2006 to 2007 , where he secured promotion to the Vorarlbergliga. In 2007 he became a trainer at AKA Vorarlberg. After seven years as a youth coach, he became assistant coach of the Tunisian Nabil Maaloul at the Qatari first division club al-Jaish in January 2014 . After Maaloul became the Kuwaiti national coach, Chabbi broke his contract in Qatar. In March 2015 he returned to SC Austria Lustenau as head coach.

In March 2017 he became coach of the Bundesliga club SV Ried , with whom he received a contract valid until May 2019. With the Rieders he had to relegate from the Bundesliga at the end of the season. In April 2018, Chabbi was given leave of absence.

In August 2018 he became the trainer of Ratchaburi Mitr Phol in Thailand . He left Thailand in November 2018.

In July 2019 he became the coach of US Monastir in Tunisia.

Personal

Chabbi's sons Seifedin (* 1993) and Nino (* 1995) are soccer players. Seifedin already played in the AKA Vorarlberg under his father and was looked after by him again from 2015 until his move to Switzerland in summer 2016 at Lustenau and from 2017 to 2018 at SV Ried.
