al-Faisaly ( Arabic الفيصلي, DMG al-Faiṣalī ) is a sports club from Amman in Jordan . The club plays in the country's highest league, the Jordan League . The club plays its home games at the Amman International Stadium.
Club history
The association was founded in 1932, making it one of the oldest in the country. With 33 championships won and 16 cup finals, al-Faisaly is the most successful club in the country. The footballers won the first championship in 1944. It was also the league's first season. Most recently, al-Wihdat broke the dominance of the club. The last championship won dates back to 2004. As champions of the 2004 season, the club qualified for the 2005 AFC Cup . You could advance to the final and win. In the final, al-Nejmeh from Lebanon was defeated. As the defending champion of the AFC Cup , you took part in it the following year and won the title again. In 2007 al-Faisaly was able to reach the final, but this time lost to their own league rivals Shabab al Ordon al Qadisiya . The national championship season 2008/09 ended the club in third place. In May 2009 the Iraqi Thaer Jassam took over the coaching position at al-Faisaly.
