The al-Wihdat SC ( Arabic الوحدات, DMG al-Wiḥdāt ) is a sports club from Amman in Jordan . The club plays in the country's highest league, the Jordan League . The club plays its home games at the King Abdullah II Stadium in Amman, which can hold up to 13,000 spectators.
Club history
The club was founded in 1956. The club had to wait until 1980 before it could win its first major title. In 1980 the club won the first of a total of 11 championships. The last one was won in April 2009. Then there was the win of the national cup. The club has been taking part in the AFC Cup as champions since 2005 . The club was able to reach the semi-finals in both 2006 and 2007. Both times, Al-Wihdat met league rivals Al-Faisaly and failed in the end.
