Orest Lenczyk
Orest Lenczyk (born December 28, 1942 in Sanok ) is a Polish football coach and former player.
Life
As a football player , Lenczyk, a graduate of the Wroclaw Sports University (Polish Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego we Wrocławiu , literally about the Academy for Physical Education ) competed for lower-class Polish clubs such as Stal Sanok, Stomil Poznań, Ślęza Wrocław and Moto Jelcz Oława , mostly as a defender .
He got his first coaching position after six months at Karpaty Krosno in mid-1972 as Nándor Hidegkuti's assistant at Stal Rzeszów . Both coaches could not prevent the relegation of Rzeszów from the Polish football club and Lenczyk started his first head coach position at Siarka Tarnobrzeg in the second division. In 1975 he became an assistant coach at the renowned Wisła Krakow club . A year later he moved up as the successor to Aleksander Brożyniak and led Wisła in the 1977/78 season to his first championship title and the first championship in Krakow since 1950. A season later, he made it to the quarter-finals of the 1978/79 European Cup , where Wisła was eliminated against the eventual finalist Malmö FF .

It should be emphasized, after stops in many large cities, the Polish runner-up title in 2007 for the 60,000-inhabitant city of Bełchatów behind Zagłębie from Lubin (74,000 inhabitants), where he entered a short-term engagement two years later. At the end of the Ekstraklasa season 2011/12 Lenczyk drove with Śląsk Wrocław his second title as Polish champion. At the end of August 2012, however, he was dismissed there after the bad start to the 2012/13 season and the heavy defeats (3: 5, 1: 5) and the elimination against Hannover 96 in the UEFA Europa League .
Quirks and oddities
Lenczyk uses colorful and sometimes drastic language. The Polish counterpart to the German Sch… is not alien to him. He fondly remembers his visits to his pediatrician, in whose waiting room a notice called for lifelong consumption of milk. His nickname is Oro Profesoro .
