The Premjer League 2016 was the 25th season of the highest Kazakh division in men's football . It started on March 12th and ended on October 29th. The FC Astana was able to secure the championship for the third time in a row.

mode

The season was carried out with twelve teams. First there was a preliminary round with a return leg, then the best six teams played the champions and the last six played in the relegation round. The results and points from the preliminary round were adopted. The bottom of the table was relegated directly, the penultimate had to be relegated.

    On February 3, 2017, the FFK decided in an extraordinary meeting Altai Semei to refuse promotion to the Premjer League. Therefore, FK Taras stayed first class in the 2017 season .
