Marek Matějovský (born December 20, 1981 in Brandýs nad Labem ) is a Czech football player .
Career
society
Matějovský began his career with Slavoj Stará Boleslav when he was five . In 1990 the midfielder moved to Alfa Brandýs nad Labem , at the age of 13 he went to FK Mladá Boleslav . There he made his debut in the 1999/2000 season in the professional team. In the spring of 2001 he moved to FK Jablonec 97 in the Gambrinus League , where he could not prevail.
In January 2003 he went back to Mladá Boleslav , where he played his way into the regular formation and helped the team to rise to the first division. In the 2005/06 season, in which FK Mladá Boleslav was runner-up, Marek Matějovský was one of the best attacking midfielders in the league. On January 7, 2008, he moved to Reading and signed a contract until 2011. For the 2010/11 season Matějovský moved to Sparta Prague . The midfielder signed a four-year contract in the Czech capital .
National team
For the qualifying games for the European Championship 2008 against Slovakia and Wales in September 2006 Matějovský was in the squad of the Czech national team , but was not used.
On February 7, 2007, he finally made his international debut in the friendly against Belgium . Matějovský scored his first international goal on October 24, 2007, the midfielder scored in a 3-0 win against Germany . He played his last international game for his home country on November 18, 2009 in a game against Azerbaijan. In November 2011 he was called up again for two more international matches, but was not used in the two matches.
