Prestatyn Town (officially: Prestatyn Town Football Club ) is a football club from the Welsh town of Prestatyn in Denbighshire County , which currently plays in the Welsh Football League First Division , the second highest division in Welsh.
history
The association was founded in 1910 . In the 1990s and early 2000s Prestatyn played almost exclusively in the third highest Welsh league, the Welsh Alliance League . In 2006, the promotion to the second-rate Cymru Alliance succeeded for the first time , in which they made the next promotion to the League of Wales in the second year .
After a rather weak first season in 2008/09 , which ended in 15th place from then 18 teams, Prestatyn's placements were always single digits in the following years. In 2012/13 the best place in the table so far was achieved with 5th place. In addition, Prestatyn Town reached the cup final for the first time in the club's history. In the final of the Welsh Cup they defeated Bangor City and thus won the first club title. At the same time, the team qualified for the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League thanks to their success . 2014/15 Prestatyn was last placed and relegated to the second division.
