Marsaxlokk [ mɐrsɐˈʃlɔkː ] is a fishing village and a municipality on Malta with 3660 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2018). The name is made up of the Arabic word Marsa for port and the Maltese word Xlokk, the south wind. It is located between the headland of Delimara Point and Benghisa Point .
It is famous among tourists for its brightly painted fishing boats ( luzzus ) and the daily market on the harbor promenade. The parish church "Our Lady of Pompei" is in the immediate vicinity.

The port is also called the Port of Marsaxlokk and is connected to the port of Marsaxlokk by a fairway .
In Marsaxlokk, outside the village of Malta, is the newest power plant, the Delimara power plant, which went into operation in 1992 .
