Xgħajra ([ ˈʃɐɪ̯rɐ ], also called Ix-Xgħajra , Italian Sciaira ) is a municipality on the southeast coast of the island of Malta , roughly halfway between Valletta and Marsaskala . It has 1830 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2018).

After the municipal elections in 2013, four of the five seats on the body were occupied by the Partit Laburista (PL) and one by the Partit Nazzjonalista (PN). The diagram shows the distribution of the votes.
