Pietà (or Tal-Pietà ) is a small town in Malta in the Marsamxett Harbor area . Pietà joins Floriana directly to the west . Her name is derived from Italian and means "piety".

description

The former Maltese State Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital , is in Pietà, as is the Medical Faculty of the University of Malta . Pietà is on Marsamxett Harbor and an old boathouse of considerable historical interest can be found on the promenade. Just as historically interesting, because it is visible on many old prints, is the small chapel Our Lady of the Sorrows (Mother of Sorrows), which was built in the 17th century. The chapel is still in use today.

The parish church only dates back to 1968. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Fátima and is operated by the Dominican Order. The St. Augustine College is owned by the Augustinian Order. Two streets nearby bear the names of St. Augustine and his mother, St. Monika . Ferries to Gozo and Sicily leave from Pietà . The depot of the patrol boats of the Maltese Navy in Haywharf can also be found here. The hamlet of 'Gwardamangia is also located in the municipality of Pietà.

Also in Pietà are:

Pietà is a suburb of Msida and Valletta . Most of the residents came from this region in the last 30 years. The population and the city have grown significantly in recent years thanks to a new settlement area and the renovation of old houses.
